North Shore Music Department
As North Shore Adventist students develop their musical skills and talents, they learn about beauty and harmony. They learn about the importance of discipline and practice. They further develop their mathematical, literacy, and social skills.
Because music instruction provides so many benefits, North Shore Adventist Academy offers a wide variety of music programs for our students. All students receive expert music instruction twice each week from our renown and accomplished music teachers. Our youngest students learn to play recorders and to sing in a group. Many also begin to play piano and/or violin in the early grades. Students in grades 3-12 are able to add band instruction to their weekly schedule. Private vocal, piano, violin, guitar and band instrument lessons are also available to all students.
North Shore Adventist Academy students get to share their musical talents with others frequently. Our voice and hand bell choirs, orchestra, Dixie land band, and jazz ensemble travel the city and state to perform at malls, churches and other schools. Students also enjoy attending the yearly choral and band festivals and performances that are sponsored by the Illinois Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists.
