Student Life

Hours of Operation

Monday - Friday 8am -4pm

Chapel

Chapel is an important part of North Shore Adventist Academy’s educational program. Students meet for Chapel every Monday morning.  At Chapel, students  worship God and and thank Him for loving and caring for us as one big school family.   Students take turns leading the song service and performing skits that demonstrate who God is and why He is worthy of praise.

Parents are always invited to worship with the students, teachers and staff of the North Shore Adventist Academy during Monday chapel.   It  begins at 8:35 am and is held in the North Shore Adventist Church’s main sanctuary.

Daily Prayer

North Shore Adventist Academy students are earnest and powerful prayers.  In accordance with 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 prayer is an integral part of  the school day.  Each morning begins with either a teacher or a student sharing a devotional thought for the day. Students then worship God with joyful songs before joining with their prayer partners for some quiet time on their knees.

As our prayer wall shows, North Shore Adventist Academy students pray sincere prayers filled with praises for blessings God has provided and petitions for His continued guidance and grace.  Included in their prayers are those they learn about in their studies: government leaders, scientists, civil servants, missionaries and others who endeavor to make the world a better place for all to live.

Morning, lunch, and dismissal prayer times help North Shore Adventist Academy students develop and establish prayer as a personal habit.  Daily prayer provides our students the opportunity to talk openly and frequently with their Creator about who and what concerns them. It promotes a happy calmness and exuberance for life as our students discover through answered prayers that our God hears them, loves them and has great plans of prosperity for them.

Academic Fair

North Shore Adventist Academy holds a annual Academic Fair where students research a variety of topics, write a research paper, and present what they have learned to judges. Students are judged on their visual presentation and their knowledge of the particular topic. Students can earn first, second, third and honorable mention ribbons. Ribbons are awarded to participants in front of an audience of fellow students, friends and relatives.

Spirit Week

For one week, every year in February, students and teachers at North Shore Adventist Academy show they have school spirit and a creative fashion style.   Each year members of the North Shore Adventist Academy student council choose themes for each day of Spirit Week  such as backwards day, pajama day, professional day, wild hair day or twin day.  It’s a week of fun and silliness that concludes with an ice cream social.
